We never lack for signals—we are constantly bombarded— what we lack is focus. We think we can be sender and receiver simultaneously. It is an admired skill set.
Such a frenetic existence results in more mixed signals than we will ever know. Our mind is not hardwired for such splintering; there is no multiple signal software for the heart.
We are rerouting the energy of our own existence, interrupting its ebb and flow. Easily, we signal out of sync or never receive a message; something or someone is forever changed.
When we see the nature of inter-being,
barriers between ourselves and others are dissolved,
and peace, love, and understanding are possible.
Whenever there is understanding, compassion is born.

Thank you to Caroline Johnson for today’s #DailyDose quotation. 🙂
Aim for Even posts offer equanimity in daily doses. No day or dose is ever the same, even if the aim is. You may read about the origins of Aim for Even here or on this site’s About page.
We are designed to be uni-taskers. When confronted with a barrage of stimuli we abandon the deep contemplative consideration required to understand and react thoughtfully. We now live in a constant gnat cloud. It takes my breath away.

Yes, I am gnat among many. For me, this image is an imperative for compassion, which is quite a challenge–I agree.
