Aim for Even explores the energy flow in our day-to-day existence. We adjust to emotional surges, aiming for balance, doing our best to stay open to the life experience.
And then there are those days when energy stays low and our best balance is in reflection. It will do no good to push for more than we have.
Sometimes, I call this percolating– it is meditative in nature—often, I turn to poetry. It never disappoints.

This well-known poem always brings forth teaching memories. The poem frustrated some students while others finally felt comfortable talking about poetry. Not always did I offer the current “criticism” on the poem.
It depended upon the students.
I have always responded to the poem just as it is. My approach to poetry is similar to my perspective on life: it is a mystery, an immensely humbling one.
