In yesterday’s post, I wrote that one fall is a life-changer for me; structurally, I am “a house of cards.” All true but in retrospect, a bit self-absorbed.
A fall is a life-changer for anyone. Descent is descent. 😉 In a nanosecond, life is a tumble—its gait broken—harm is imminent.
Life at its most vibrant, a complete change-up in a nanosecond.
A plunge into scary places–all fears fly forth–vulnerability on public display, in lights even (we are so certain this is true).
Who is not a house of cards? Mine is not a monopoly on falling.
In that moment, I am at my most vulnerable. It is what I do after I land that is the life-changer. That is my fresh deck.
The moment is all we ever have, and it is enough. Its lack and fragility only apparent to us it seems.
Aim for Even posts offer equanimity a dose at a time. No day or dose is ever the same, even if the aim is. You may read about the origins of Aim for Even here or on this site’s About page.
There are many ways a life can change – completely – in a moment. You’re right: it’s what we do with the fresh deck dealt afterwards that counts.
